夹杂物级别应在0.25英寸且不腐蚀的抛光面下观察，表面制样按照ASTM345要求。按照ASTM E45方法A,JK图1在100倍评定

well-distributed globular carbides are permitted ,closed network grain boundary carbides are not permitted ,small amounts of bainite in   t-ecase .w-ile not desirable. is permissible .

表面或表面附近的显微组织应是硬度大于等于HRC57的马氏体和奥氏体组成。内部氧化层或相关的转变产物是允许的，但是不得超过0.0254mm。如果要求没有内部氧化层或相关的转变产物，应在图纸中注明。
分布均匀的球状碳化物是允许的，碳化物网状是不允许的，表层少量贝氏体是允许的，魏氏组织是不允许的。
