Mr. Wu, I'm very shocked by your so many perfect microstructure pictures, this is my first time to visit this website, hence I can learn so much form these beautiful pictures. Thank you very much.
I'm a bearing engineer,  I always want to have a look the microstructure pictures of bearing steel, such as the pictures of bearing steel forging, annealed forging, heat-treated bearing steel and related failed heat treatment pictures etc. I will appreciate you very much if you have these pictures to share with us,

I do not get involved in bearing industry, therefore, cannot be of much help to you. Sorry about that.
Tooling industry and cast iron industry are what I have been working with since I quit teaching college-----about one 2 decades ago.

Show you something I have never done before.

SNCM 440 (?) specimen, polished, vacuum quenched from 1040 C, and observed the mirror surface after quenching. (not etched)
Shown below are Austenite grain boundaries and surface reliefs (浮凸) produced from phase transformation.

Note the subgrains in some larger grains. Subgrains should not be counted during determination of grain size.

Grains and subgrains of a unknown steel specimen.
Photos were taken decades ago. That is why I do not remember the name of the steel.
Note the subgrains inside real grains out-lined by proeutectoid product.

This request has been raised a couple of  times before.  Reasons were explained before, too. "No pains, No gains".
I share my photos only with  the selected few----those who are capable of reading English. So, please work hard
on your English. It will do you good, for the rest of your life.

A unknown steel specimen (probably SCM 440?), polished, vacuum quenched from 1040 C, and observed under OM.
Shown below are surface reliefs produced from phase transformation.
Interesting pattern.

but  it lack of heat treatment method ,it is a regret.

An unknown steel specimen , (SNCM 440 ?) larger in size than previous one (#241)
polished to mirror-surface and quenched in a vacuum furnace from 1040 C.
Shown below are photos with surface relief related to phase transformation.
Black spots are rusted shrinkage pores existed before mirror polishing.
Smooth areas are obtained from Ferritic/Pearlitic transformation and
rugged areas are related to Bainitic / Martensitic transformation.

    Photos in #242, #246 were taken from specimens right after quenching.
    photos taken with OM.  NOT SEM.
