Microstructure of the collet chuck that is made of JIS SUJ 2, or AISI 52100.

Nothing is wrong with heat treatment.

Cr25 white iron + 15%Ni, 1020 Quenched, tempered at 200C

Matrix: Austenite with dispersion of carbide particles.
Proeutectic hex-rod carbide + eutectic mixture.

您好,可以帮我看看这个是什么组织吗。弹簧钢55CrSi直径12.8,感应加入,980淬火,460回火。抗拉强度是1806,断口收缩率是47,客户绕弹簧无法成型,一弯就断。谢谢各位帮忙分析。此图像为400倍。

Showing off colorful micrographs of ductile iron induction quenched.
They were taken from transition zone. Color area is Martensite. White area is Ferrite. Halo of Martensite around graphite nodules was Ferrite before hardening. On induction heating, this area transformed rapidly to Austenite. Carbon atoms diffused into the Austenite and it then transformed to Martensite on water-jet cooling.

I share with you because they are just too beautiful to keep to myself.

Hello Master! Why the ferrite around the nodular graphite transforms to austenite earlier during induction heating ?does the graphite provide nucleation of austenite ? I think that area is in rich of Si. What is the Pearlite content of the raw cast iron ?

C% does the job by lowering the A3 temp. The Ferrite in direct contact with graphite nodule transforms to Austenite first.
